EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver after he allegedly suffered injuries in a rear end collision in Alton.

Robert Skelton filed a complaint Sept. 14 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jacob T. Kimbro, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Skelton was driving his vehicle on Washington Avenue near Homer Adams Parkway in Alton on Aug. 7, 2020. Skelton alleges Kimbro struck the rear of his vehicle and caused him to suffer injuries, disability, lost wages and incur medical treatment expenses. He claims Kimbro failed to keep a proper lookout, was driving at an unsafe speed for the traffic conditions and failed to use reasonable care while operating his vehicle.

Skelton also claims he suffered loss of a normal life and is likely to suffer further pain in the future.

Skelton seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Jon Rosenstengel of Bonifield & Rosenstengel PC in Belleville.
