EDWARDSVILLE — A tractor trailer driver and his employer are facing a negligence claim following a collision in Pontoon Beach.

David Rill filed a complaint Sept. 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Tristan Woods and LTI Trucking Services Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Rill was driving his vehicle on Route 162 in Pontoon Beach on Sept. 11, 2019. Rill claims Woods, an employee of LTI, was traveling in a tractor trailer and collided with the plaintiff's vehicle.

As a result of the collision, Rill claims he suffered severe and permanent injuries.

He alleges Woods was negligent for failing to stop or swerve the tractor trailer to avoid the collision, for speeding and for failing to keep the tractor trailer under sufficient control. Rill also alleges Woods failed to keep a proper lookout or equip the tractor trailer with adequate brakes. He claims as a result of the collision, he has suffered pain and anguish in both mind and body.

Rill seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Timothy Hulla of Brown & Brown LLP in St. Louis.
