EDWARDSVILLE — A man is accused of defaulting on two promissory notes totaling more than $60,000.

Douglas G. Draper, trustee of the Douglas G. Draper Living Trust, filed a complaint Aug. 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Tobin Knutson, alleging default of a promissory note.

Draper alleges that on Jan, 7, 2020, Knutson executed a $60,000 promissory note payable to him, which became due on Feb. 7, 2020. He claims Knutson has refused to pay the loan and now owes principal, interest and penalties.  Draper further claims that a second promissory note was executed by Knutson on Jan. 31, 2020, for $17,000, which was made payable to him and became due on Feb. 28, 2020. Knutson has also refused to pay the second amount, the suit states. The plaintiff alleges that Knutson also owes interest and penalties for that promissory note, which is now in default.

Draper seeks monetary and all other just relief. He is represented by Mark Silvermintz of The Law Office of Mark M. Silvermintz in Collinsville.
