EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims she was injured when her vehicle was struck from behind while she was stopped at a traffic light in Alton.

Drew McIntyre filed a complaint Aug. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Todd Grigg, alleging negligence.

McIntyre alleges in her complaint that she suffered injuries on May 13, when Grigg's vehicle collided with the rear of her car as she was stopped at a traffic light in Edwardsville. Specifically, McIntyre claims that she was driving her Ford Fusion and stopped at a red light at the intersection of Plum Street and Governor's Parkway when Grigg, who was driving his Chevrolet Silverado, crashed into her vehicle.

She alleges that as a result of the crash, she has incurred medical bills and suffered both temporary and permanent injuries.

McIntyre claims Grigg was negligent for driving at a speed greater than reasonable and proper, failing to exercise control over his vehicle and for driving in an "inattentive fashion." She also claims Grigg was following her vehicle too closely.

McIntyre seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Lanny Darr of The Darr Law Offices LTD in Alton.
