EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly driving her vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic, causing a crash in Alton.

Michael Lee filed a complaint July 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Bilan Everage, alleging negligence.

According to Lee's suit, he was driving his Dodge Dakota eastbound on Blair Avenue in Alton on Sept. 25, 2019. He alleges Everage was traveling westbound on Blair Avenue when she drove her vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck the plaintiff's vehicle.

Lee claims that as a result of the collision, he suffered injuries to his neck, shoulders, back and other parts of his body and incurred medical treatment costs.

He alleges Everage failed to keep her vehicle in her lane of travel, drove while distracted, was speeding and failed to keep a proper lookout. He also alleges Everage failed to reduce her speed or maneuver to try and avoid the accident.

Lee seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Michael Glisson and Taylor Fehrenz of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
