Illinois Governor's office issued the following announcement on July 30.
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration:
CHICAGO STATE UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Angelique Davis will serve on the Chicago State University Board of Trustees.* Davis is the Executive Managing Director, Chief Operating Office, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Ziegler Companies, an investment bank and investment firm. She previously practiced law at Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell. Davis also serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bond Dealers of America. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University and her Juris Doctorate from the Northwestern University School of Law.
FINANCE AUTHORITY
William Hobert will continue to serve as Chair on the Board of Directors of the Finance Authority.* Hobert is managing member of WH Trading, a global proprietary derivatives trading firm he founded in 1994 in Chicago. WH Trading provides liquidity to a wide range of futures and options markets including; interest rate, foreign exchange, agricultural commodity and energy products. He is also on the Board of Directors of the CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace. Hobert chairs the Board of My Block My Hood My City board, serves on the President's Board of UCAN and is involved with the Academy for Urban School Leadership. Hobert received his Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University.
Arlene Juracek will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of the Finance Authority.* Juracek most recently retired after her second term as Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect. Her distinguished service includes leadership positions as the Chair of the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission, Chair of the Northwestern Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency, and President of the Northwest Municipal Conference. Previously, she served as an elected Village Trustee of Mount Prospect, Acting Director of the Illinois Power Agency and served in the private sector for over thirty years in energy acquisition. Juracek received her Bachelor of Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and her Master's in Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
INDEPENDENT TAX TRIBUNAL
James Conway will continue to serve as the Chief Administrative Law Judge on the Independent Tax Tribunal.* Conway has served on the Tribunal since 2013 where he has played an integral role in standing up the agency. He presides over cases while also maintaining the administration of the agency, preparing budgets, codifying processes, and overseeing staff. Previously, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney where his work ranged from the criminal division to financial crimes and special prosecutions to complex fraud. His experience also includes over five years with the Internal Revenue Service. Conway received his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Chicago, Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School, Master of Laws in Taxation from DePaul University, and he is a certified public accountant.
Brian Barov will continue to serve as an Administrative Law Judge on the Independent Tax Tribunal.* Barov has served on the Tribunal since 2014 where he has played an active role in creating the Tribunal's policies and practices and presiding over open tax cases. Prior to his appointment, Barov devoted twenty years of his career as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General, representing the State on matters of taxation, revenue, labor, environmental and civil rights law. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary and Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
RACING BOARD
Beth Doria will serve on the Racing Board.* Doria most recently served as the Executive Director for the Federation of Women Contractors and the President and CEO of Alliance Associate, Inc. for over fifteen years. Previously, she served the State in a variety of roles including as the Women's Business Advocate and Manager in the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs as well as positions in the Bureau of Tourism, Illinois State Lottery, the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Secretary of State. Her experiences in both business and government have led her to leadership roles on the boards of the Chicago Women in Government Relations, the National Association of Women Business Owners, the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce, and the Illinois Business Enterprise Council. Doria received her Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University.
