EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist alleges another driver was stopped on the side of the highway and pulled out into traffic without looking, causing a collision.

James Tinnin filed a complaint July 13 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Logan Klocke, alleging negligence.

Tinnin alleges in his complaint that on July 27, 2019, Klocke was stopped on the shoulder of Illinois 159 in Madison County and pulled out onto the highway before making sure it was "clear and safe" to do so. As a result, Tinnin claims Klocke struck his vehicle, causing the plaintiff to suffer injuries and loss of a normal life, endure pain and incur medical bills.

Klocke is accused of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout for other traffic, failing to yield the right of way, and failing to use reasonable care while operating his vehicle.

Tinnin seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Craig Ortwerth of Ortwerth Law LLC in St. Louis.
