EDWARDSVILLE — A woman who allegedly suffered injuries in a collision at an intersection on Illinois Route 3 in Granite City claims the other driver was speeding and failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.
Mari Crawford filed a complaint June 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Eric Brannan, alleging negligence.
Crawford claims in her suit that she was driving her vehicle on Illinois Route 3 near the intersection of Rock Road in Granite City on March 9, 2020. She alleges Brannan, who was approaching the same intersection in his vehicle, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and made a left turn into the path of her vehicle.
Crawford claims that as a result of the collision, she suffered injuries to her neck, back, chest and other parts of her body and has incurred medical treatment costs and suffered mental anguish.
Crawford alleges Brannan was negligent for failing to yield the right of way, exceeding the posted speed limit and driving while distracted. Crawford also alleges Brannan failed to keep a proper lookout, reduce his speed or try to maneuver to avoid the collision.
Crawford seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and al other just relief. She is represented by Michael Glisson and Taylor Fehrenz of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
