EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims she suffered severe and permanent injuries when another driver collided with her vehicle in the parking lot of the Alton Target.

Pamela A. Pace filed a complaint June 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Suzann Privett, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Pace was driving her vehicle in the parking lot of the Target on Homer M. Adams Parkway in Alton on July 1, 2019. She alleges that Privett was driving her vehicle in a different direction in the parking lot when she "forcefully" struck the passenger side of the plaintiff's vehicle.

Pace claims Privett was speeding through the parking lot and failed to stop, reduce her speed or turn to avoid the collision. She also claims Privett failed to "keep her eyes on the marked lanes of traffic in front of her" and failed to operate her vehicle in a "lawful manner."

Pace alleges that as a result of the crash, she suffered injuries to her head, neck and back and was "severely and permanently injured." She further alleges she lost wages, suffered complications of her injuries and incurred medical treatment expenses as a result of Privett's negligence.

Pace seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Matthew Kelly of Schrempf, Kelly & Napp LTD in Alton.
