EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is being sued after allegedly causing a rear-end collision on an exit ramp in Edwardsville.

Debbie Wright filed a complaint June 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Albert Supp, III, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Wright was a passenger in a vehicle on Aug. 6, 2019, that was stopped at a stop sign on the I-270 exit ramp to Illinois-157 in Edwardsville. Wright alleges Supp, who was driving his vehicle from behind, crashed into the rear of the vehicle the plaintiff was riding in and caused her to suffer "serious" injuries to her neck and shoulder.

Wright further alleges that due to her injuries, she has incurred medical treatment costs. She claims Supp was negligent in failing to keep a careful lookout while operating his vehicle, failing to maintain control of his vehicle and failing to keep a safe driving distance from the vehicle in front of him.

Wright seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. She is represented by Kevin Sullivan of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
