EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision on Illinois-143 and causing the plaintiff to suffer serious injuries.
Clarice Rick filed a complaint May 28 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jasmin Torres, alleging negligence.
Rick alleges in his complaint that she was driving her Toyota Camry on Illinois-143 on Oct. 9, 2020. She claims she was waiting "to safely make a left turn" when Torres, who was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix, rear ended her vehicle and caused her to suffer injuries to her neck, back, hip, ankle and thigh.
Rick claims her injuries have caused her to require therapeutic and rehabilitative treatments and incur medical expenses. She also claims Torres was negligent for failing to yield the right of way, failing to swerve or reduce her speed and failing maintain proper control of her vehicle.
Rick seeks compensation of more than $75,000 trial by jury and all other just proper relief. She is represented by Christopher Dixon and Gregory Motil of The Dixon Injury Firm in St. Louis.
