Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE — The landlord of the building where We Rock the Spectrum is located claims it is owed more than $7,000 after its commercial tenant abandoned the newly renovated rental property.

R.L.P. Development Co., Inc., filed a complaint May 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jennifer L. Range, doing business as We Rock the Spectrum, and Michael S. Range.

According to the plaintiff's complaint, We Rock the Spectrum rented their 5,029 square foot property on Century Drive in Edwardsville in March 2017 with the lease expiring on May 31, 2027. The plaintiff alleges that Jennifer Range operated her business on the leased property and that the lease has been terminated due to her nonpayment of rent.

The plaintiff claims Jennifer Range abandoned the property and owes R.L.P. Development Co. $7,564.17 in monthly rent and expenses for the improvements it made to the property for her in addition to interest and late fees.

R.L.P. Development seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. They are represented by Katherine Smith in Edwardsville.
