Fast Eddie's, intoxicated driver sued over fatal motorcycle crash

Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE —  A motorist is accused of becoming intoxicated at Fast Eddie's and then causing a fatal collision with a motorcycle.

Jeffrey Dillinger, individually and as special administrator of the Estate of Natasha Dillinger, filed a complaint April 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Erin Arras, William Smith and Fast Eddie's Bon-Air Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Natasha Dillinger was a passenger on a Honda motorcycle being driven by Smith on Sept. 7, 2020, on West Broadway in Alton. The plaintiff alleges that Arras, who was driving her Nissan in a parking lot, "suddenly" pulled out into the path of the motorcycle and caused Natasha Dillinger to be thrown from the motorcycle. The decedent allegedly hit the pavement and suffered fatal injuries to her head and torso. The plaintiff claims Arras was "legally intoxicated and/or impaired," and Smith was driving "at a speed greater than was reasonable or proper." The plaintiff also claims Fast Eddie's negligently served Arras alcoholic beverages.

The plaintiff seeks compensation of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Robert Gregory of The Law Office of Robert H. Gregory PC in East Alton.
