EDWARDSVILLE — The owner of a Madison County drywall business is being sued after allegedly failing to pay more than $66,000 for construction materials.
R.P. Lumber Co., Inc., filed a complaint April 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jacob Staggs, doing business as S&S Drywall.
According to the complaint, R.P. Lumber runs a lumber and construction materials business at its facility on Vandalia Street in Edwardsville. It alleges that Staggs, the owner of S&S Drywall, entered into an agreement for the purchase of $66,099.45 worth of construction and building materials. R.P. Lumber claims Staggs has failed to pay the agreed upon interest of 24% per annum as well as costs of attorneys' fees and collection if the funds were not paid.
R.P. Lumber seeks monetary and all other just relief. It is represented by attorney Katherine Smith of Edwardsville.
