EDWARDSVILLE — Granite City plaintiffs claim they conveyed the title to a property on Maryville Road to a Madison County land trust that refuses to pay for the land per the sales contract.
Nicole Bohnenstiehl and Daniel Bohnenstiehl filed a complaint March 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Covenant Land Partnership LLP and Maryville 1 Trust and/or One Maryville Trust, alleging breach of contract.
The plaintiffs allege in their complaint that on Feb. 8, 2016, they entered into a contract with Covenant Land Partnership for the purchase of real estate on Maryville Road in Granite City for $63,000. They claim that on March 14, 2016, they conveyed the title to the property to Covenant but the defendant has refused to pay for the property. The plaintiffs allege Covenant has been "unjustly enriched" by receiving a property it has not paid for and continues to hold possession of the property.
The plaintiffs seek compensation of more than $63,000 and all other just relief. They are represented by Edward Szewczyk of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
