Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — The former sales director of a St. Clair County trucking business claims he was fired in retaliation for reporting the company's alleged state law violation.

S. Tyler Fox filed a complaint Feb. 22 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Beelman Truck Co., alleging retaliatory discharge.

According to his complaint, Fox served as the director of sales for Beelman Truck beginning on Feb. 17, 2020. He alleges that during the course of his employment with Beelman Trucking, he became aware that the company was selling five or more used vehicles a year without an Illinois Dealer's License in violation of state law. Fox claims that after reporting to the management about the company's state law violation, he was fired in retaliation on Nov. 6, 2020.

Fox alleges he has suffered loss of income, emotional pain, inconvenience and humiliation, as well as other damages.

Fox seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Edward Szewczyk of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
