BELLEVILLE — A customer is suing Ashely Home Stores for allegedly misleading her about the delivery date of her living and dining room set and failing to deliver some of her purchased items.
Cameron Stine filed a complaint Feb. 17 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ashley Home Stores LTD, alleging breach of contract and fraud.
According to her complaint, Stine claims she purchased a living room and dining room set from Ashley furniture on Aug. 9, 2020. She alleges that part of the purchase transaction included a promise to deliver her new furniture on or before Oct. 23, 2020. Stine claims her furniture has "not been completely delivered as of this date." Stine alleges she has spent more than 30 hours "dealing with the rescheduling process." She also alleges that Ashley "expressly promised" she would have her furniture by the October date, but the dates were rescheduled at least six times.
Stine claims she would not have purchased the furniture if she had not been promised to receive all of her items by October. Stine further claims Ashley has "engaged in similar conduct with other customers" and intentionally misleads consumers.
Stine seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other proper relief. She is represented by attorney Kevin Stine in Okawville.
