BELLEVILLE — A man claims he slipped on snow and ice accumulation at a Metrolink parking lot and suffered severe injuries.
Robert Lewis filed a complaint Feb. 1 in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit for St. Clair County against Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District doing business as Metro and/or St. Louis Metro and Bi-State Development Agency doing business as Metro and/or St. Louis Metro alleging negligence.
Lewis was on the defendants premises on Feb. 7, 2020, according to his complaint. He alleges that after parking his car and walking on the curb/sidewalk to catch the Metrolink, he slipped and fell "violently and with great force" on accumulations of ice and snow.
Lewis claims the defendants were negligent in allowing "unnatural accumulations of ice and snow" where pedestrians were walking and failing to repair a "hazardous change in elevation" on the sidewalk.
He specifically claims Bi-State Development was "contractually obligated" to remove the ice and snow and failed to perform the snow and ice removal on the premises.
Lewis alleges he has suffered "life altering" injuries which has caused him to have lost time from work and impact his daily activities.
Lewis seeks monetary and all other just relief. He is represented by Daniel Seidman of Seidman Margulis & Fairman LLP in Chicago.
