Commercial landlord claims tenants owe more than $65,000 in back rent

EDWARDSVILLE — The owner of a commercial property in Granite City claims its tenant owes more than $65,000 in back rent and other charges. 

Nexgen Properties Management LLC filed a complaint  Jan. 19 in the Madison County Circuit Court against 618 Brothers Inc., and Emad Haroun alleging breach of contract/lease.

According to the complaint, 618 Brothers entered into a lease agreement with Nameoki Shopping Center Investments on Jan. 31, 2017, for the rental of a property owned by Nexgen. The property is located on Nameoki Road in Granite City. The plaintiffs claim the five year lease runs through Jan. 30, 2022, and that 618 Brothers has failed to pay the required rent and other charges per the lease agreement. 

Nexgen alleges that 618 Brothers owes and continues to fail to pay $65,303.09 in overdue rent and other fees. 

Nexgen Properties seeks monetary and all other just relief. They are represented by S. Jay Dobbs and Anthony Hafner of McCarthy, Leonard & Kaemmerer LC in Town & County, Mo.
