Woman alleges injuries from icy slip, fall at Boost Mobile store

Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she slipped and fell on an icy entrance at a Boost Mobile store in Cahokia.

Devious Moore-Jones and William Jones filed a complaint Jan. 7 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against KG Premier LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the suit, Devious Moore-Jones was walking into the Boost Mobile store in Cahokia, which was owned and operated by the defendants KG Premier, on Jan. 25, 2019. Moore-Jones alleges she slipped on the sidewalk abutting the entrance to the store because it was "covered with ice."

Moore-Jones claims she suffered a broken arm, which required surgery, as well as other "severe and permanent" injuries as a result of her fall.

The plaintiffs claim KG Premier was negligent for failing to take efforts to remove the snow on the store premises. They further claim the defendants failed to "properly inspect" the property and failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. They are represented by Derek Siegel of Juehn, Beasley & Young PC in Belleville.
