Tenant sues over icy slip, fall at O'Fallon apartment

Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — A woman is suing the owners/managers of her apartment complex, alleging she slipped on ice and suffered injuries.

Alison Musser filed a complaint Dec. 29 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Century Development LLC and CR Holland Commercial Real Estate, doing business as CR Holland Property Management, alleging negligence.

Musser alleges in her complaint that she was at her apartment complex on Savannah Noel in O'Fallon when she slipped and fell on ice near the complex's entrance. The apartment complex is allegedly owned by the defendants.

Musser claims she has suffered "severe injury," pain, disability, lost wages and has incurred medical expenses due to the alleged fall.

Musser claims the defendants failed to provide a safe means for her to enter and exit her apartment, failed to remove or warn of the ice on the ground and failed to "exercise reasonable care" in maintaining its premises.

Musser seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. She is represented by Attorney Matthew Young in Belleville.
