BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she suffered a broken leg and other bodily injuries after a dog jumped on her and caused her to fall to the ground at a Cahokia residence.
Lisa Daughtery filed a complaint Dec. 15 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ronald Tyler, Jr, Karen Tyler, Sherry Nelms and Ronald Tyler, Sr.
Daughtery alleges in her complaint that she was an "invited guest" at the defendants' residence on Price Street in Cahokia on Sept. 19. She alleges that "without provocation," the defendants' dog, which was under the control or possession of Nelms, jumped on her and caused her to fall to the ground.
Daughtery alleges the fall caused her to suffer a broken left leg. She also alleges she suffered "significant injuries" to other parts of her body, including internal and external organs. Her injuries have caused her to require physician and hospital treatments.
She further alleges she has suffered "numerous" missed working days and endured "great pain and mental anguish" as a result of Tyler's dog allegedly jumping on her.
Daughtery seeks compensation of more than $75,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Gary Mack of The Law Offices of Gary A. Mack PC in Belleville.
