Woman allegedly slipped on grease at Mount Vernon McDonald's

Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — The operator of a Mount Vernon McDonald's is being sued after a customer allegedly slipped on grease while at the restaurant.

Morgan Browers filed a complaint  Dec. 10 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against TDS Services Inc., alleging negligence.

On March 21, 2019, Browers claims she was leaving the Mt. Vernon McDonald's managed by the defendants. She alleges that while exiting the restaurant, she slipped and fell on grease that was on the floor.

Browers alleges she suffered "permanent, serious and painful injuries and damages," including injury to her shoulder. Her injury allegedly required surgery. She further alleges her injuries have "greatly" interfered with her ability to work and resulted in lost wages and earnings as well as the loss of her enjoyment of life.

Browers claims in her suit that the defendant "knew or by using ordinary care could have known" about the alleged grease on the floor and that TDS Services "failed to use ordinary care to remove the grease." She also claims the defendant neglected to warn of or fix the dangerous condition.

Browers seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other proper relief. She is represented by Scott Kolker of Kolker & Labovitz in Clayton, Mo.
