Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE — A man claims he fell into a former drainage ditch at a Collinsville Casey's General Store and suffered ankle, knee and shoulder injuries.

Tyrone Taylor filed a complaint Dec. 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Casey's General Stores Inc., and Casey's Retail Company, alleging negligence.

According to his complaint, Taylor was at Casey's General Stores on North Bluff Road in Collinsville on Oct. 29. He alleges he parked his truck in the "dedicated area" of the parking lot when he stepped into what was "apparently a one-time drainage ditch" and fell.

Taylor claims he suffered injuries to his right ankle, knee and shoulder. He alleges Casey's General Stores negligently failed to "remove or fill" the ditch/canal, failed to place "grate or cover" over the "depressed area" and failed  to warn about the "trip hazard."

Taylor seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Lanny Darr of The Darr Law Offices LTD in Alton.
