EDWARDSVILLE – Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons leaves to his successor Tom Haine a list of 178 witnesses who might testify against Timothy Banowetz, alleged killer of lawyer Randy Gori.

The list includes Banowetz’s parents, Kevin and Julie, and brothers Jonathan and Brad, all in O’Fallon, Mo.

Kevin Banowetz, in an interview at his door on Nov. 7, said he didn’t know the state listed him as a possible witness. He studied the list and took it inside to copy it.

The list begins with Caroline Kasa of Chesterfield, Mo., a guest in Gori’s home on Mooney Creek Lane at the time of the crime on Jan. 4.

Banowetz faces a misdemeanor charge that he committed aggravated assault on Kasa, “by lunging toward her in a stabbing or slashing motion.”

The list includes Gori’s widow Beth Gori of Ladue, Mo., and his parents Judy and Leroy Gori of Mooney Creek Lane.

It includes lawyer Christopher Layloff of the Gori firm and the firm’s human resources manager.

It includes residents of neighborhoods south of Mooney Creek Lane, among hills northwest of Edwardsville:

Kyle Keppler, Michelle Keppler, and Kelly Johnson reside on Prickett Avenue.

Christopher Kuykendall, John Pashea, and Andrew Calloway reside on Zika Lane.

Brent Ahlers and Nicholas Ahlers of Edwardsville own land near Gori’s home where police recovered his Rolls Royce.

Gibbons listed other Edwardsville addresses for Tony and Tate Rujawitz, Andre Davila, Dillon Dixon, Marcus Owen, Brandon and Randal Johnson, John Schoonover, Will Blarney, Connor Bradley, Yolanda Tucker, Christopher Kayich, Michael Swanson, and Sue Wooden.

He provided Edwardsville work addresses for Michael Gremer of Cross Towing, Adam Main of Brown’s Towing, Deana Henke of Walgreens, Brianna Roeper of Town Place Suites, and Tyanna Lewis and Whitney Anderson of Circle K.

He provided work addresses in Staunton for Jeffrey Schmidt, Mary Rae, Michael Peters, Suresh Patel, Derrick Taylor, and Brenda Smith.

He listed Alhambra residents Jeremy Clark, Patricia Dennison, and Clinton Best.

He listed Kim LeClair and Jennifer Adams of Troy, Amber Waters and Danielle Zobrist of Highland, and Jennifer Prante and Lacie Cardenas-Aldaba of Worden.

He listed Desiree Daley of Belleville, Caitlin Lagemann of Alton, Brittni Nonn of Granite City, and Krystan Collins of Mascoutah.

Potential Missouri witnesses include Jenna Lea Henderson-Smith of Ladue, Delon Echols of Ballwin, Laura Notrica of Kirkwood, William Baker of St. John, and Daniella Duban and Maria Riefle of Florissant.

Gibbons also listed Ian Beracha, Crista Chenoweth-Beracha, and Brian Beracha, all of Ladue.

He listed St. Louis College of Pharmacy security director Scott Patterson and general counsel Kenneth Fleischmann.

Banowetz attended the school.

Six names connect to Gori’s hobby of collecting exotic automobiles.

Gibbons listed Matthew Godi of St. Louis Auto Detail and Graham Hill of Holman Motorcars, both in Chesterfield, Mo.

He listed Scott Gaines of Plaza Motors in Creve Coeur, Mo., and Michael Fernandez of Michael’s Automotive Perfections in Marion.

He listed Benjamin Schneider of Pontoon Beach and Craig Whitehead of St. Louis, who appear online as Cars and Coffee podcast hosts.

Potential witnesses from distant points include Aimee Godinez of Downers Grove, Hattie Anastasio of Elkins, Arkansas, Sean Halbrook of Old Hickory, Tenn., and Elizabeth Porter of Jacksonville, Fla.

Gibbons listed dozens of police, emergency responders, and evidence technicians.

Circuit Judge Kyle Napp has not set a trial date.

At a conference on Nov. 4, prosecutor Crystal Uhe told Napp the state would seek a life sentence.

Napp ordered a psychiatric examination of Banowetz, who has spent ten months in jail without bond.
