Heyl Royster is pleased to announce the election of Matt Hefflefinger to a three-year term as a National Director on the board of the Defense Research Institute (DRI). DRI is the leading attorney defense organization in the world, boasting membership in excess of 20,000 attorneys. DRI has 29 Substantive Law Committees that focus on developing high quality CLE for lawyers engaged in many different areas of law. Matt will serve a three-year term as one of 12 National Directors, having been elected through DRI’s vigorous nomination and election process.
While Matt has been involved with DRI on a number of levels, his primary distinction during the past two years has been serving as chair of the Trucking Law Committee. That Committee is one of DRI’s most active, and during Matt’s tenure, the Committee excelled in membership attraction and particularly in the development of high quality seminar programming. Matt’s reputation as a premier trial attorney also factored into his election. Matt chairs Heyl Royster’s Trucking Law and Motor Carrier Practice Group and in that capacity handles catastrophic losses for motor carriers throughout the Midwest region. Matt also handles cases touching upon a wide variety of areas in construction and commercial litigation.
