EDWARDSVILLE — A Granite City bar and a restaurant are being sued after a patron allegedly became intoxicated and caused a fatal crash.

Debra Hall, as legal guardian and next of friend of Melia Hall, a minor, filed a complaint July 27 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Eddie's Neighborhood Bar & Grill, also known as Eddie's Lounge, and El Torero Mexican Restaurant.

According to the complaint, Johnny Million was a patron at Eddie's Bar and El Torero's restaurant in Granite City on May 12, 2012. Million began drinking alcoholic beverages and became intoxicated, according to the suit. The plaintiff alleges that Million then drove his vehicle "in a reckless manner" while drunk with Ronda Jean Hall riding as a passenger. Million allegedly struck another vehicle, causing his car to leave the road and overturn. The plaintiff alleges in her suit that Million's collision caused Ronda Jean Hall to suffer fatal injuries.

Hall claims the collision was the result of Million being "intoxicated at the time of said collision from the alcohol served to him by employees, agents and or/servants" of the defendants.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $50,000, plus all other proper relief. They are represented by Ely Hadowsky of Brown & Brown LLP in St. Louis.
