To The Editor:
Every now and then God allows people that are generous and real into your life.
I can speak out and speak up for over 25 years about Mr. Lance Callis of Callis Law Firm in Granite City, a man of wisdom, integrity, honesty and great counseling.
His work speaks for itself. He would always tell me, "take care of the kids and the people in your community," which consists of Venice Township and Brooklyn, by always supporting churches, civic organizations, youth groups and the NAACP.
My friend, the honorable Lance Callis did it. This was every year, any time of the year, he gave clothes, hams, turkeys. He bought toys, school supplies, and baseball tickets, always saying "help the people."
I would like to thank the Callis family for sharing him with us to make life better for all.
On Saturday September 28, 2019, our friend was laid to rest. I salute you my friend, my mentor and our hero. Thank you for caring. May you rest in peace. Job well done.
