Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. issued the following announcement on July 22.
Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. principal Jeralyn H. Baran presented employment disability laws to the Technology & Manufacturing Association’s (TMA) HR Peer Group to help members working with disabled applicants and employees address disability challenges and identify appropriate forms of reasonable job accommodations. Baran introduced a manufacturer’s model and provided a checklist to navigate the legally required interactive accommodation review. Baran also delivered an update on federal, state and local employment laws.
Baran has practiced in the areas of employment and commercial litigation for over 20 years and leads the firm’s Employment practice group. She is a frequent presenter and thought leader on employment issues and has worked closely with TMA for more than a decade after the firm joined the Association at the suggestion of several of its manufacturing clients. Serving on the steering committee for TMA’s HR Peer Group, which holds quarterly meetings of owners and HR professionals to learn about employment topics, Baran regularly answers questions and advises on new developments in employment law. Additionally, Baran is an active member of TMA’s Women in Manufacturing Committee which annually grants the Rose Mottl Leadership in Manufacturing Award, funds scholarship opportunities to introduce a new generation of women to manufacturing, sponsors tours, works with the Girl Scouts on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) events, and hosts presentations. Baran has been named to the Leading Lawyers Network for nine consecutive years and to Illinois Super Lawyers for 10 years, including being named one of the top 50 women attorneys in Illinois.
