Michael Murphy, Daniel Siegfried, and Melissa Brown will be among the featured speakers at the Illinois State Bar Association’s 18th Annual Environmental Law Conference. Siegfried and Brown will give an update on the regulation of coal ash, while Murphy will discuss the rebirth of Illinois’ public notice requirement. MCLE credits are available for the conference, which is being held May 9‑10 at ISBA’s regional office in Chicago.
Murphy, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses his practice on environmental law at both the state and federal levels. He has been named to the lists of Emerging Lawyers by Illinois Leading Lawyers, Rising Stars by Illinois Super Lawyers, and 40 Business Leaders Under Forty by the Springfield Business Journal.
Siegfried, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, also concentrates his practice on environmental law, with 25 years of experience representing clients in the utility and natural gas industries. Previously, he served as attorney to the Chairman of the Illinois Pollution Control Board. Siegfried has been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer.
Brown, an associate in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses her practice on environmental law, including assisting clients with environmental compliance issues, permitting, rulemaking, and enforcement matters at both the federal and state levels. In 2016, she joined the firm’s Springfield office when the practice of Hodge, Dwyer & Driver merged with HeplerBroom.
