Scott Cruz, Member in Clark Hill’s Labor and Employment group, will speak at the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association’s (IMA) and Illinois Retail Merchant Association’s (IRMA) Business Day at the Capitol in Springfield, Illinois on May 1, 2019 from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. The presentation will focus on Illinois lawmakers’ proposal to legalize recreational marijuana after the authorization of medicinal marijuana in 2013. The chief sponsor of the legislation, Rep. Kelly Cassidy, will discuss the proposal, while Scott Cruz will discuss the impact the legislation might have on the manufacturing and retail industries, such as a workplace’s ability to drug test and how to maintain a safe and drug-free work environment. Business Day offers the public the opportunity to meet with elected officials to discuss job growth and prosperity, and to help legislators understand the impact their decisions will have on the Illinois manufacturing and retail industries.
