Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that the National Law Journal has lauded Tracy A. Gallegos and Matthew R. Kittay as Trailblazers in Cannabis Law.
The nationally recognized distinction is presented to attorneys who are “agents of change” in this new and rapidly developing industry.
Kittay and Gallegos are members of the firm’s nationwide Cannabis Law Group, which is comprised of more than 50 attorneys from multiple disciplines who help clients navigate the legal challenges they face in this highly regulated space.
“It will be a recession-proof industry,” Gallegos told the National Law Journal. “The 2018 Farm Bill will mean more work in hemp and CBD. When M&A finally slows down, there will be a lot more work in litigation, intellectual property, labor and employment and likely data privacy and security.”
Gallegos, a transactional attorney who launched her cannabis practice in 2010, works with cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, retailers and distributors, as well as those who provide ancillary services to the industry.
She earned her J.D. from Drake University and her A.B. from the University of California.
Kittay, who serves as co-chair of the firms Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, provides global cannabis brands and financiers with innovative solutions to complex structuring, regulatory and financing issues. Kittay brings a depth of experience in international financing and a wide range of corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings and strategic advice for growth-stage companies.
“I work with cannabis investors to identify assets and secure them,” said Kittay. “With the added complexity of the individual state regulatory regimes, it is difficult.”
He earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his A.B. from Brown University.
