Attorney Lawrence Zlatkin has joined Baker McKenzie's North America Tax Practice as Counsel, bringing more than 25 years of experience with sophisticated tax planning and transactional tax work.
Based in New York, Lawrence spent nearly 25 years at General Electric (“GE”), where he was responsible for the company’s tax profile and strategy across multiple global platforms, and led their tax organization in Europe, India, East Asia, and Australia/New Zealand. "Lawrence’s knowledge and experience will be an immediate asset, and we are very pleased to add him to our team."
Lawrence also brings extensive in-house experience advising on a variety of cross-border M&A transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations, with a focus on integrating multiple countries’ tax laws with US-based multinational tax and business objectives. He also brings familiarity with tax laws and organizing tax principles in many major jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, France, India, Japan, Mexico and Australia.
"I am thrilled to join Baker McKenzie's highly regarded Tax practice," said Lawrence. "Baker has an unparalleled global footprint. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues around the world to provide our clients with practical, business-minded tax solutions as tax laws continue to rapidly evolve."
