Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP issued the following announcement on March 13.
Benesch announces that attorney Lauren Tortorella has joined the firm as an associate.
Tortorella is joining the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group in the Chicago office. She has experience representing Fortune 500 companies in complex commercial litigation as well as brand and generic pharmaceutical companies in patent infringement litigation. Before entering private practice, Lauren worked with the International Rescue Committee, where she guided international political refugees through the complex process of legally resettling in the United States. Tortorella graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2016 and from the University of Virginia in 2011. While in law school, she externed for the Honorable Matthew Kennelly, of the Northern District of Illinois and served as editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law.
“Lauren is an outstanding attorney, and we welcome her to the firm,” said J. Erik Connolly, Executive Committee Member, Vice Chair of the Litigation Practice Group, and Co-Chair of the Securities Litigation Practice Group. “In growing our Litigation Practice Group, we are focused on working with our clients to achieve smart, cost-effective resolutions to conflicts, whether in the courtroom, arbitration, or settlement. Lauren takes a thoughtful, solution-oriented approach to her work, which is just what our clients are looking for.”
Tortorella’s hiring reflects continued momentum for Benesch, which has been growing aggressively in Chicago and expanding its national footprint as part of a strategic plan launched by Gregg Eisenberg, the firm’s Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member, in 2015.
