EDWARDSVILLE— A customer claims she was injured when she slipped and fell on liquid on the floor at the Collinsville Culver's.
Pamela Turner filed the suit on Feb. 21 in Madison County Circuit Court against Cognati Enterprises, LLC - Cognati Group LTD, doing business as Culver's.
According to the complaint, Turner alleges employees at Culver's were aware there was liquid on the floor since an employee was stationed near the area when the plaintiff allegedly slipped and fell.
The plaintiff claims Culver's and its employees had a "duty to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance and operation of its premises."
Turner alleges Culver's was negligent for failing to "properly" clean the spill and did not warn customers of the liquid on the floor through signage or "suitable warnings."
Turner is seeking recovery damages of more than $50,000 for her injuries, pain, lost wages, disability and medical costs.
