Belleville attorney Kurt S. Schroeder was honored with the 2018 Citizen of the Year award by the Belleville Chamber of Commerce.
The award was announced by his law firm, Greensfelder Attorneys at Law, where he works as an attorney and officer.
The award recognizes service toward the enrichment of the quality of life in his community. It focuses on the recipient’s contributions in education, as well as charitable and voluntary service.
Schroeder has worked in law for three decades and focuses his practice on resolving environmental, governmental, and tax disputes.
Schroeder has served on the Belleville Township High School District 201 Board of Education for 19 years and is currently chairman of the Memorial Hospital East Board.
He is a member of the Memorial Group Inc. Board and the Patient Care Committee of BJC Healthcare.
Schroeder has also served on boards for local public schools and the Boy Scouts of America.
