EDWARDSVILLE – A Madison County woman is suing the owners of a Mexican restaurant in Alton after falling at the entrance to a restroom.

Betty Price filed a complaint Feb. 19 in Madison County Circuit Court against Little Mexico Restaurant, restaurant owner Hector Alvarado and manager Ivan Vaca. She said she fell on liquid while entering the restroom on April 27, 2017, causing back and hip injuries. The suit seeks more than $50,000 in damages.

The six-count complaint alleges premises liability and negligence against El Pollo Corp., which runs the restaurant on West Ninth Street, as well as individual counts against Alvarado and Vaca. She said the defendants failed to properly inspect and maintain the restaurant according to its own policies, local codes and state laws, and should have warned her of the allegedly dangerous condition.

Price is represented in the matter by the Alton firm of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson.
