Madison County voters overwhelming approved a measure securing it as a Second Amendment sanctuary county for law abiding gun owners.
The referendum passed by a margin of 67 to 33 percent.
It read, “Shall Madison County become a sanctuary county for law abiding gun owners to protect them from unconstitutional gun laws passed by the Illinois General Assembly?”
