Bond County State’s Attorney Chris Bauer was elected circuit judge with 79.2 percent of voters who cast ballots voting for him.
Bauer, a Democrat, ran unopposed for Circuit Judge John Knight’s seat, who will retire next month.
Bauer did not create a campaign committee.
He was elected State's Attorney in 2000.
Knight had also served as Bond County State’s Attorney for 18 years before he was elected resident circuit judge of Bond County in 2000. He was retained circuit-wide in 2006 and 2012.
Bond County joins Madison County to make up the Third Judicial Circuit.
