POLSINEL PC: Polsinelli’s Nancy Rafuse Named Among Top Female Litigators in the Nation

Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on Aug. 27.

Polsinelli’s Labor and Employment Department Chair Nancy E. Rafusehas been recognized as one of the Top 250 Women in Litigation in Benchmark Litigation’s annual Top 250 Women in Litigation publication.

Rafuse is one of only four litigators in Georgia to make the list, and she has earned a spot every year since 2013. The Top 250 Women in Litigation publication’s extensive research process, which encompasses six months of investigation into the individual litigators’ professional activities as well as client feedback surveys and individual interviews, has culminated in the selection of the most distinguished women in the world of litigation.

According to Benchmark Litigation, “these women have earned their place amongst the leading female litigators by participating in some of the most impactful litigation matters in recent history as well as by earning the hard-won respect of their peers and clients.”

As Chair of Polsinelli’s Labor and Employment Department, Rafuse represents and advises employers on a full range of employment law and litigation issues in today’s business environment, in addition to her role managing a nationwide team of labor and employment attorneys.

“Because of her professionalism and dedication to clients, Nancy has earned this recognition for six consecutive years,” said Polsinelli Chairman and CEO Russ Welsh. “As one of the country’s leading litigators, Nancy is an incredible asset to our firm and for our clients.”

Attorneys named to the 2018 publication were chosen through several phases of research: namely, the review of their recent case work, peer review in which Benchmark Litigation considers how attorneys at peer legal institutions might rank them, and a consideration of client feedback on their performances.

Earlier this year, Rafuse was named a Local Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation, and she was ranked as a Band 1 Labor & Employment lawyer by Chambers USA and included in The Best Lawyers in America® in the fields of Litigation – Labor & Employment and Employment Law – Management.

Rafuse is a class action and bet-the-company counselor to Fortune 100 companies. She has served as lead trial counsel in all areas of employment litigation, including cases filed under the anti-discrimination statutes (Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act, Section 1981, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination Act, the Equal Pay Act) as well as other employment-related statutes (FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, ERISA). She has developed a national reputation throughout her nearly 30 years of practice as an “expert on experts,” working with and cross-examining statisticians, labor economists and industrial and organizational psychologists. In addition, Rafuse is a C-Suite advisor, assisting clients with high-level risk management and strategic decisions about employment and other transformative workforce issues.
