James Nowogrocki joins Heyl Roster

ST. LOUIS –– Attorney James Nowogrocki has joined the law firm Heyl Royster.

Nowogrocki specializes in employment law, focusing on federal and local statutes that affect today’s workers, according to a press release. His practice centers on aiding clients with non-compete agreements and trade secret issues as well as executives having trouble with employment contracts or severance packages.  

Nowogrocki has defended a host of small and large businesses facing discrimination claims, ranging from wrongful termination cases to violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He’s successfully tried such cases in Missouri and Illinois courtrooms, the release indicates.

Nowogrocki also advises employers on how to avoid workplace litigation. He personally created a specialized training program, “Workplace Door of Employment Law,” to help businesses navigate the federal and state laws that should regulate their behavior.  

Nowogrocki has been recognized for his achievements, having been ated "AV Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest ranking for ethical standards and professional ability. He’s also a member of the Missouri Board of Law Examiners. He served as president of the board from 2015 to 2017.  

He joins Heyl Royster as "of counsel."
