Woman alleges Dollar General failed to warn of wet floor

BELLEVILLE – A shopper at a Caseyville Dollar General alleges she was injured when she slipped and fell.

Kimberly Stevenson filed a complaint on Dec. 8, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against DG Retail LLC, doing business as Dollar General, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 14, 2015, she was a patron lawfully on the defendant's premises when she slipped and fell due to a liquid that accumulated on the floor. 

The plaintiff alleges Dollar General failed to inspect its floor in order to make sure it was in a safe condition and failed to adequately warn patrons of the liquid on its floor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in a sum of more than $50,000, plus costs.
