Motorist allegedly thrown from vehicle in Millstadt collision

Car accident 28

BELLEVILLE – A woman claims a Millstadt collision caused her to be thrown from her vehicle.

Taylor Helfrich filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kaylee Poston and Jason Poston, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 24, she was driving northbound on South Jefferson Street within the right of way when her vehicle was struck by Kaylee Poston, who was driving a vehicle owned by Jason Poston. As a result of the impact, plaintiff veered off the roadway over a curb and into a utility pole. She was violently thrown within the confines of her vehicle, the suit states.

As a result, Helfrich claims she sustained physical injuries, mental anguish and required medical attention.

The plaintiff alleges Kaylee Poston failed to keep a proper lookout for cross traffic, failed to properly apply the brakes of the vehicle and failed to yield the right of way to other motorists.

The plaintiff seeks judgment of more than $50,000 in damages, plus costs of suit.

She is represented by Dominic Kujawa of Dominic Kujawa PC in Belleville.
