Motorcyclist sues over Pontoon Beach collision

Car accident 27

EDWARDSVILLE – A motorcyclist is seeking damages following a collision with a pest control vehicle in Pontoon Beach.

Brandon Raines filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Bush Termite & Pest Control Inc. and David File, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Raines alleges that on July 13, 2016, he was traveling northbound on state Route 203 near its intersection with the Interstate 270 westbound exit ramp in Pontoon Beach when his motorcycle was struck by File, who was driving a Bush Termite & Pest Control vehicle.

As a result, Raines claims he sustained physical injuries.

The plaintiff alleges File failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming vehicle, disregarded a traffic control device and failed to keep an adequate lookout.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of the action.

He is represented by Kenneth B. Beljanski and Jaye R. Lindsay of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
