Woman alleges intoxicated driver caused Belleville collision

Car accident 32

BELLEVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured in a collision in Belleville when she was struck by an intoxicated driver.

Ashley Gula filed a complaint on Nov. 3 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ryan Hines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 9, she was driving her Honda Civic southbound on North Illinois Street at its intersection with West B Street when her vehicle was allegedly struck by the defendant's vehicle.

As a result, Gula claims she sustained physical injuries, disfigurement, loss of income and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Hines operated his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and with a greater speed than reasonable, failed to be attentive on the road and failed to keep a safe distance between his vehicle and the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in the amount of actual damages of more than $50,000, plus costs.

She is represented by Kevin Boyne in Belleville.
