Wood River man alleges injuries from collision

Car accident 13

EDWARDSVILLE — A Wood River resident is suing a motorist for allegedly colliding with his vehicle while attempting to maneuver around him.

Darrell L. Vollmer filed a complaint on Nov. 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jeffery M. Gavlick, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 17, 2015, his vehicle was struck when the defendant allegedly attempted to maneuver around his vehicle to make a right turn onto Vandalia.

As a result, Vollmer claims he sustained physical injuries, loss of normal life and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Gavlick failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce or decrease his speed and drove recklessly.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for an amount in excess of $50,000 for costs of suit and any other relief the court deems just and appropriate.

He is represented by D. Jeffrey Ezra of Ezra & Associates, LLC in Collinsville.
