BELLEVILLE – A Cahokia man is seeking damages from a Belleville woman after a collision in Alorton.
James T. Hoffman filed a complaint on Oct. 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Christianna Rutledge, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2016, he was driving his Dodge Dakota northbound on Old Missouri Avenue when his vehicle was struck by the defendant's vehicle. As a result, Rutledge claims he sustained physical injuries and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Rutledge failed to give audible warning with her horn, failed to apply brakes and failed to keep her vehicle under proper and sufficient control.
The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages of more than $50,000 and costs of suit.
