Driver alleges injuries from I-270 collision

BELLEVILLE – Damages are sought from a Belleville man after a rear-end collision on Interstate 270 in Town and Country, Mo..

Erin M. Pozniak filed a complaint on Oct. 30 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against John P. Rutledge, alleging he failed to exercise due care and caution in the operation and control of his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 23, 2015, she was driving her Toyota Camry southbound on Interstate 270 south of Clayton Road when the defendant allegedly lost control of his vehicle and collided with the rear of her vehicle. 

As a result, Pozniak claims she suffered personal injuries, mental anguish and became liable to medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Rutledge failed to give audible warning with the horn, failed to reduce speed and failed apply brakes in time to keep losing control of the vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages of more than $50,000 costs of suit, and for such further relief as the court deems just and equitable.
