BELLEVILLE – A motorist is seeking damages from a Memphis tavern after an intoxicated driver caused a collision in Belleville.
Keith Paul filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against KSBA Inc., doing business Sit "N" Bull Saloon; Sit-N-Bull 2 Inc., doing business as Sit "N" Bull Saloon; and FKG Oil Co., doing business as Motomart, citing the Dram Shop Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 21, 2016, John Burr drove through a red light and struck the plaintiff's vehicle at the intersection of Highway 15 and 17th Street in Belleville. The suit states that Burr was intoxicated at the time of the collision and that the defendants had sold him alcoholic beverages.
As a result, Paul claims he suffered physical injuries, damaged his earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff seeks judgment in an unspecified amount that is reasonable, proper and sufficient.
