BELLEVILLE – A St. Clair County woman alleges that she was injured in a rear-end collision in Fairview Heights.
Jaszmyne McKenzie filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kinya D. Johnson alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 12, 2016, the plaintiff was driving her Hyundai along St. Clair Avenue in Fairview Heights when defendant's Chevrolet struck the rear end of her vehicle. As a result, McKenzie claims she sustained severe physical injuries, pain and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff holds Johnson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to yield right of way and failed to keep her vehicle under proper control.
The plaintiff seeks judgment for a fair and just award of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by Reed C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson in Belleville.
